Here you will find answers to all of the frequently asked questions we receive! 

Q: Where are you located?

We are located in Olympia, Washington right off exit 99. We are in a peacefully, wooded location, while being close enough to town for our out of town guests! 8726 Blomberg St SW, Olympia, WA 98512

Q: Do you have indoor and outdoor spaces?

Yes! Capitol City Barn offers: 

  • A charming indoor barn space

  • Outdoor ceremony areas with natural greenery

  • Space for cocktail hour, photos, and mingling

This flexibility is great for weather back-up plans. ​

Q: What types of events do you host?

We host everything from weddings, to baby showers, to corporate Christmas parties! You have an event, we can host it! 

Q: What's included in renting the venue?

Typically, the following is included: 

  • Exclusive use of the venue for your event day

  • Access to a warming kitchen

  • Tables and chairs

  • On-site venue attendant

  • Select Decor

Specific hours vary by package and day of the week. ​

Q: How far in advance should we book?

For weddings, we recommend somewhere between 9 and 18 months - especially for peak Summer dates. However, we do occasionally have last-minute availability, so it's always worth reaching out. 

For all other events, you can book any time! 

Q: Can we decorate the spaces?

Absolutely! We encourage couples and hosts to personalize the space. We do have a few guidelines to protect the venue (for example: no open flames or permanent installations). 

Q: Do we need to clean up after our event?

Yes, but we do have a service that can be added to any package to make your day even less stressful! 

Q: Is there a bridal suite to get ready in?

Yes! We have a large bridal suite upstairs for the couple with a partition to separate the two areas. 

Q: Can we tour the venue?

Yes! Tours are by appointment only so we can give you our full attention. Contact us to schedule a walkthrough.

Q: Is alcohol allowed?

Yes, we allow only beer and wine with proper licensing and insured bartending services. All alcohol policies must comply with Washington State laws. 

We do allow a couple's signature cocktail but the bartender cannot have any personal affiliation with people at the wedding. Most bartenders have signature cocktail packages that work within our guidelines and policies. 

Q: Are there bathrooms on site?

Yes! We have permanent bathrooms that are wheelchair accessible. 

Q: How do we book?

To reserve your date: 

  1. Confirm availability

  2. Sign a contract and facility application

  3. Submit a non-refundable deposit

Once booked, your date is officially secured. ​

Q: Do we need liability insurance?

Yes - we require a Certificate of Liability but we make it easy with a link to a company to get exactly what we need. The total for the insurance comes out to around $170. You're also able to get the certificate through your own insurer, we just need a copy! 

Q: How much does it cost to book?

Pricing varies based on the date, event type, and rental length. We offer full-day rentals, micro-wedding options, and select custom packages. Contact us for current pricing and availability. 

Q: Can we bring our own vendors?

Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own licensed and insured vendors. We also have a list of trusted local vendors we love working with if you'd like recommendations.

Q: What happens if it rains?

Don't worry, we always have a weather back-up plan. Indoor ceremony options are available, and our team will work with you ahead of time to ensure a smooth transition, if needed. 

Q: How many guests can the venue accommodate? 

We have an indoor maximum of 100 people. There is some flexibility around this number, so please reach out to discuss! 

Q: How long is a full day rental?

Depending on the day, it is anywhere from 9am to 11pm. 

Q: Are pets allowed?

We love pets! Well-behaved pets are welcome for ceremonies and photos, as long as they are supervised and leashed, cleaned up after, and do not destroy the grounds. 

Q: Are there payment plans?

Our payment schedule for weddings require the following: 

  • $1000 deposit to secure your date

  • 50% of the total rental fee due 9 months before the date of the event. 

  • 100% of the total rental fee due 90 days before the date of the event. 

Q: Who sets up the ceremony chairs?

We've got you! We will have our onsite attendant set those up for you and your guests so you don't have to worry about it!
